Mother’s Day has always been kind of an interesting holiday for me because it falls right next to my mom’s birthday. Growing up, we honestly didn’t make a huge deal out of it. My dad always called it a Hallmark holiday, so it just wasn’t something we celebrated in a big way. But as I’ve gotten older, and especially now that I’m a mom, I see it so differently. It feels important now. Like a moment to actually pause and recognize the women who gave us life, raised us, loved us, and carried so much for us, often in ways we didn’t fully understand until we became adults ourselves.

Because when you really think about it, moms do so much behind the scenes. The emotional load, the constant thinking ahead, the showing up every single day. It deserves to be celebrated. And I will say this, as a mom now, the gifts that mean the most are never the biggest or the flashiest. They’re the thoughtful ones. The sentimental ones. The pieces you look at every single day and instantly think of your kids, your mom, or the people you love most. Those are the ones that stick.

That’s always what Allie and I come back to when we think about Mother’s Day. We want pieces that feel meaningful, but also pieces we would actually wear. Things that are special, but still easy. Beautiful, but made for real life.

If I’m being fully transparent, our original plan for Mother’s Day looked a little different this year. We had designed everything around our Birthstone Bangles, and I was so excited about them. They are truly one of my favorite things we’ve created. But small business life, our shipment is still tied up and hasn’t arrived yet.

And while yes, that’s frustrating, it also made us step back and ask what this is really about. Because at the end of the day, it’s not about one specific product. It’s about meaning. And the good news is, we have so many pieces that tell that story in a really beautiful way.

If you know me at all, you know I love pieces that feel personal but still effortless. That’s exactly why I keep reaching for our birthstone pieces right now, our huggies, rings, and pendants. They give you that same meaningful, personalized feel, but in a way that you can throw on every day without overthinking it.

I love a simple birthstone charm layered with other charms, or gifting a pair of huggies to a new mom with her baby’s birthstone. It’s subtle, but still so special. I wear Jack and Kate’s birthstone huggies all the time, and I love that they’re just this quiet little reminder that they’re always with me.

The rings are the same way. Stackable, simple, meaningful. You can build them over time, add to them, mix them into your everyday stack. They grow with your story, which I think is so special. I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again, sentimental gifts win every single time. They’re the ones you actually wear, the ones you don’t have to think about, and the ones that catch your eye in the middle of a busy day and make you smile.

And honestly, I think that’s what moms really want. Not something they have to save for a special occasion, but something they can wear to school drop-off, to work, running errands, sitting at a game, just living their everyday life. Real life still deserves beauty too.

We also put together a full Mother’s Day Gift Guide this year to make things really easy. Whether you’re shopping for your mom, a new mom, a grandmother, or even sending a little hint, there’s something for everyone. One of my personal favorites is our Gold Bangle Stack. It’s honestly the best gift for a new mom. It’s the easiest thing to throw on as you’re walking out the door, and somehow it just makes you feel a little more put together instantly.

At the end of the day, at Allie + Bess, we’ve always believed jewelry should feel joyful, personal, and easy to wear. And while this Mother’s Day might not look exactly how we originally planned, in a lot of ways it feels even more aligned with what we believe. Because the best gifts aren’t about perfection. They’re about meaning.

So if you’re searching for the perfect Mother’s Day gift, choose something that represents the people she loves most.
