Some people are just easy to work with — thoughtful, kind, and full of heart. That’s Nanette (@sweetfringebenefits). We’ve had the chance to collaborate with her before, and coming together again for another collection felt natural.
What we love most about Nanette is that she brings meaning into everything she does. Her perspective on finding the “sweet” moments in every season of life translates beautifully into jewelry, pieces that are colorful, symbolic, and wearable every single day.
We asked Nanette a few questions about the inspiration behind this collection and how she lives in color. Here’s what she had to say:
What inspired your collection with Allie+Bess?
I wanted to create a collection that would remind people of finding the Sweetfringebenefits in the changing seasons of life! The floral charm and the bee are definitely symbols of the different seasons of life that we walk through, and that the good, the sweet, is often accompanied by the hard, difficult and sometimes painful experiences. The colors of fall and denim are representative of another season we travel through. And of course, the white bracelet is another symbol of the winter season.
What made you want to collaborate with Allie + Bess?
I’ve watched them collaborate with other influencers and I’ve loved getting to know them through these collaborations. It’s a chance to not only create beautiful unique pieces, but an opportunity to share Sweetfringebenefits and to give my community something to put their hands on that is uniquely ours.
Who is your ultimate style inspo?
I grew up sewing with my Mom. So creating an outfit from scratch feels very natural to me. I don’t sew anymore, but starting with one great piece and building on it. Just like I did when we’d find the perfect fabric then spend hours turning the pages of the pattern book for just the right style. Something will catch my eye, like this burgundy and blue color combo in the Nanette necklace, and all of a sudden, all I’ll see are different ways to wear it.
What’s your favorite way to wear your Allie+Bess pieces?
Almost always layered in stacks. However, I love their gold pieces all on their own. I’m so thrilled with the quality of this collaboration! The details on the flower and the bee are lovely. I really love them for travel. By bringing 7-8 bracelets, I can make several different stacks highlighting different color combinations.
What’s your current favorite jewelry accessory?
One tip I’ve embraced lately is focusing on either a strong bracelet OR necklace stack. If I have 5-7 bracelets on, I’ll usually just have one or two gold necklaces layered.
What’s your all-time favorite color?
My all time favorite color is…COLOR! It changes on the daily. Even if I’m wearing a monochromatic neutral look, I’m adding a pop of color. Allie & Bess is the easiest way to do that by adding a Zo or a vinyl with a touch of color in it.
How does your collection bring color into your world?
I want my collection to not just bring color into our friends outfits, but joy in to their lives. Remembering the good, the sweet, the Sweetfringebenefits, will bring deeper meaning to our lives. I always say, it isn’t a Pollyanna approach. We do feel the hard. We do acknowledge the challenges. But there’s always something sweet to find. That sweetness is the color in a sometimes dark world we live in.
Who do you imagine wearing your Allie + Bess collection?
I have the most amazing community of women. They’re so supportive. So responsive. I want them to be able to have something that daily reminds them to find the Sweetfringebenefits in their own changing seasons. When one season ends, it can be hard to find a new way. A new way to live. Even a new style. I hope these stacks will be worn and the message will be shared with their friends!!
