Meet Rachel Cross! Rachel is from Bay St. Louis, MS, a little town near New Orleans. She got her bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering at Tulane University. She worked for 22 years in the medical field. She is now retired and enjoying time with her husband, Mike, and visiting their daughter, Blaize, who lives in TN. Spice has always been an integral part to Rachel's life. She recalls many fond memories of her mother cooking up good old soul food and adding pepper. They used to joke that they put pepper in her baby bottle to get her ready. She also sees the pepper as a reminder to add a little spice into your life. Shake things up a little! Tips for Keeping Your Jewelry Looking Its Best

We want your Allie + Bess pieces to stay beautiful for as long as possible! Proper care can help preserve the color, shine, and finish of your jewelry.

FIRST: Check Your Product Details

Before wearing your new piece, check the product description for its care instructions.

If your piece is labeled “waterproof,” you’re good to go! These pieces are designed to withstand everyday exposure to water, so feel free to wear them rain or shine.

If your piece is not labeled “waterproof,” please follow the care instructions below.

For Non-Waterproof Jewelry

Keep away from water. Remove your jewelry before showering, bathing, swimming, or exercising.
Avoid chemicals and products. Water, body oils, perspiration, cosmetics, lotions, perfumes, hairspray, and cleaning products can cause discoloration, tarnishing, or dull the finish over time.
Put jewelry on last. Apply makeup, lotion, perfume, and hairspray before putting on your jewelry.
Remove before bed. Sleeping in your jewelry can cause unnecessary friction, pulling, and wear.
Gently clean after wearing. Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe your jewelry after each wear to remove oils and buildup.
Store properly. When you’re not wearing your jewelry, keep each piece in an airtight plastic bag or jewelry pouch. This helps protect it from moisture, tarnishing, and scratching.
Give your jewelry a break. Even with proper care, plated metals naturally change over time with regular wear and exposure to the elements.
